한결은 전통 옻칠 기법을 현대 생활 속에서 활용할 수 있는 형태로 확장해온 작가이다. 오랜 시간 옻칠의 재료적 특성과 제작 방식을 연구하며, 생활용 소품에서부터 가구와 설치 작업에 이르기까지 다양한 영역에서 나무와 옻칠의 물성과 기능을 현대적으로 재해석한다. 소목장 집안에서 성장하며 자연스럽게 ‘만드는 일’의 감각을 익힌 그는, 이후 이공계 전공과 정밀 제작 경험을 통해 기술적 기반을 다졌다. 이러한 경험은 전통 옻칠의 섬세함과 현대적 쓰임을 연결하는 작업으로 이어졌다. 현재 한결은 일상 속에서 자연과 공예의 가치를 다시 경험할 수 있도록, 전통과 현대가 만나는 옻칠 작업을 지속하고 있으며, 최근 호리아트스페이스에서 개인전을 개최하는등 국내외에서 활발히 활동하고 있다.
Hangyeol is an artist who has expanded traditional lacquer techniques into forms that can be integrated into contemporary life. He has spent years studying the material properties and production methods of lacquer, reinterpreting the characteristics and functions of wood and lacquer in a modern context across a range of works, from everyday objects to furniture and installation pieces. Growing up in a family of master woodworkers, he naturally developed a sensibility for craftsmanship. Later, his studies in engineering and experience with precision fabrication provided a strong technical foundation. These experiences have informed his work, bridging the delicacy of traditional lacquer with contemporary utility. Today, Hangyeol continues to create lacquer works where tradition and modernity converge, inviting people to rediscover the value of nature and craftsmanship in daily life. He actively exhibits both domestically and internationally, most recently holding a solo exhibition at Hori Art Space.
